What is Project 20?
Project 20 is a program of the San Francisco Pretrial Diversion, Inc. Project 20 is a non-profit organization established for individuals who cannot afford or prefer to do volunteer community service in lieu of paying traffic fines. Community service hours are determined at the rate of $10.00 per hour by the traffic courts.

Do I have to pay to participate in Project 20?
– Yes. Project 20 will charge a sliding fee, based on amount owed for work credit. These fees are non-refundable.
Where can I do my community service hours?
– Participants have the option to complete their community service with a number of agencies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Can my contract be cancelled?
– Yes. If you do not appear at your assignment within five days after your contract has been issued to P20, or if you do not meet the terms and conditions of the contract, the citations will be reassigned to the collection process. Canceled contracts are not eligible for enrollment.
When is my timesheet due?
– Timesheets and payments must be completed and returned to our office ONE WEEK before the Progress Report date.
Can I do Project 20 as many times as I want?
I am late turning in my paperwork, what do I do?
-All paperwork must be returned to our Office one week before the Progress Report Date. We cannot give extensions on Court Cases.
If you are unable to complete work credit hours in the time period required, you will be referred back to the courts.
Do I have to appear if I finish everything on time?
No, we will report the completion of your contract to the courts.
